Care for your Converse sneakers
Share
We know how much your kicks mean to you, so below are some tips on how to care for your converse sneakers.
The most important thing to remember when cleaning your Converse sneakers is: DO NOT MACHINE WASH OR DRY them. The chemicals in washing detergent, the heat of a dryer and the movement of a washing machine and dryer can damage your shoes permanently.
Second, always test your cleaning method on a small part of your sneakers first, preferably on a part of the shoe that is not visible. We recommend the tongue.
For canvas and leather/synthetic Converse sneakers, using a damp cloth or soft toothbrush, mild soap and lukewarm warm, rub your shoes gently in the area you want to clean. After washing, allow to dry in a warm or airy space at room temperature. If you'd like to keep the shape of your shoe, stuff them with paper while drying and remember to change the paper regularly throughout the drying process. Avoid drying with direct heat, e.g. in the sun or using a hair dryer, because intense heat can damage the shoes.
For sneakers that are made of suede, DO NOT use any water or soap, simply brush away dirt with a sued brush when the shoes are dry.
Whatever you do, approach the cleaning process delicately to see what works best for you.
